Takoan by Yuunagi-bashi is an Osaka classic: over 80 years old, now in its third generation, and the city’s only Michelin two‑star restaurant devoted to fugu. They focus on wild torafugu, choosing large fish over 5 kg for depth of flavor. Dinner unfolds like a winter story—springy fugu skin, translucent sashimi cut a touch thicker for a satisfying bite, then a clean, delicate hot pot with tofu and seasonal vegetables. When the pot is finished, rice and egg become a simple zosui that captures every drop of broth. It’s a calm, Japanese-style space, five minutes from Asashiobashi Station.
